The Ballona Wetland Enhancement Project will recreate a variety of native habitats on the site of the former Ballona Wetlands.
The project area includes about 600 acres owned by the State of California, along both sides of the Ballona Creek channel.
Preliminary draft restoration concepts were presented to the Ballona Stakeholder's Working Group at a public workshop on November 18, 2006.
Based on extensive comments and suggestions compiled from that workshop, a more refined set of preliminary alternatives were presented to the Science Advisory Committee (SAC) on January 15, 2007.
The current Feasibility Analysis effort requires additional detail be developed related to potential cut and fill grading (earth movement) and hydrologic circulation, and the new April 22, 2007 drawings below provide that detail.
These drawings will be presented as one item of the Ballona Stakeholders Working Group meeting: April 25th, Wednesday evening 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, University Hall, Room 1857, Loyola Marymount University (LMU), Westchester, Los Angeles .
